Esferas Culturales consists of three strategic cultural centers located in vulnerable communities across the state of Nuevo León. Designed as a cornerstone of social urbanism, the project addresses regions where access to public space was previously nonexistent. We translated a complex pedagogical methodology developed by multidisciplinary experts into a physical framework that integrates the arts and creative thinking at the core of community development.
At the heart of the Esferas Culturales initiative is the belief that a city’s health is measured by its children’s freedom to imagine. Our design for these three centers in Nuevo León prioritizes the Right to Play as an essential architectural program. We developed a series of flexible, light-filled spaces that break down the barriers between formal education and artistic play.
